We built Salty Books around a simple idea: business owners shouldn’t have to be salty about their finances.
How it started
It started with family.
Salty Books Bookkeeping & Tax is a family-owned and veteran-owned business built around the same reason so many small businesses begin: family.
As a husband-and-wife team raising a busy family, we understand firsthand what it’s like to balance work, kids, schedules, and running a business. We wanted to build something that allowed us to provide for our family while still being present for the moments that matter.
Salty Books was also built from two very different professional backgrounds that work incredibly well together.

The numbers side
Construction, cleanup, and job costing
Our bookkeeping and accounting experience includes a strong background in construction and blue-collar businesses, with a particular love for job costing, cleanup work, and digging into the numbers. We enjoy finding discrepancies, untangling messy books, and helping business owners understand where their money is actually going, and whether their jobs are truly profitable.
The operations side
U.S. Air Force and 20 years of leadership
Our other side brings a background that began in the U.S. Air Force and grew into nearly 20 years in the dental industry, along with extensive leadership and management experience. That experience brings an operational perspective to Salty Books, from managing people and improving processes to understanding the day-to-day challenges business owners face.
Where the name comes from

Together, we built Salty Books around that simple idea. What started as a husband-and-wife operation has grown into a team of bookkeeping, accounting, and tax professionals serving businesses across a variety of industries. Much of our growth has come from referrals from clients who trust us enough to recommend us to other business owners, and we don’t take that lightly.
