Overview
Keep cash moving in both directions
Accounts payable is typically used when your business operates on an accrual basis. We can manage the process from start to finish by receiving and processing vendor bills and invoices, setting up an accounts payable system, and tracking upcoming payments. This gives you a clear picture of what you owe, who you owe, and when payments are due each month, while ensuring those expenses are properly recorded in your financials.
On the other side, accounts receivable is the money your customers owe you. We track your open invoices and record payments as they come in, so you always know who owes you, how much, and for how long.
What’s included

The difference
Payables vs. receivables, in plain English
Accounts payable
Money you owe. The vendor bills, supplier invoices, and subcontractor payments waiting to go out. Managing it well means bills get paid on time and every expense lands in your books correctly.
Accounts receivable
Money owed to you. The invoices your customers haven’t paid yet. Managing it well means you know exactly what’s outstanding, and cash comes in when it should.

Do I need accounts payable if I pay bills right away?
Maybe not. If your business runs on a cash basis and pays bills as they arrive, a formal A/P system may be more than you need. For accrual-basis businesses, or anyone juggling a lot of vendor bills, it gives you a clear picture of what’s due and when.
What tools do you use to manage bills?
We work in QuickBooks Online and can connect tools like Bill.com to streamline bill approval and payment.
